KD 3.4 Membandingkan fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan beberapa teks prosedur lisan dan tulis dengan memberi dan meminta informasi terkait resep makanan/ minuman dan manual, pendek dan sederhana, sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya

4.4 Menangkap makna secara kontekstual terkait fungsi sosial, struktur teks, dan unsur kebahasaan teks prosedur lisan dan tulis, sangat pendek dan sederhana, dalam bentuk resep dan manual

 

TUJUAN PEMBELAJARAN

1. Mengucapkan ulang setiap kata dari beberapa teks resep makanan/minuman dan manual dengan ucapan dan tekanan kata yang benar.

2. Mengidentifikasi fungsi sosial, struktur teks dan unsur kebahasaan dari procedure text berupa resep pendek dan sederhana.

3. Mengidentifikasi informasi (umum, spesifik, rinci) dari teks procedure
tentang resep sederhana sesuai dengan konteks penggunaannya.

4. Membuat dan mengunggah video teks procedure untuk dipresentasikan

Mengingatkan untuk materi yang kita pelajari minggu lalu adalah Label, yaitu mengidentifikasi fungsi sosial yang terdapat dalam produk makanan, minuman dan obat-obatan

PROCEDURE TEXT

 

“Procedure text is a piece of text that give us instructions for doing something.”

“Procedure text is a text that is designed to describe how something is achieved through a sequence of actions or steps.”

 

The goal of procedure text

“The social purpose of procedure text is to show how something is done through sequence of steps which enable the reader to achieve the goal.”

“The purpose of procedure text is to tell the reader how to do or make something through a sequence of actions or steps.”

 

THE CHARACTERISTIC OF PROCEDURE TEXT

  1. USING  V1
  2. USING  IMPERATIVE SENTANCE
  3. USING ACTION VERB Ex: Make, Take, Boil, Cook, Stir,etc.
  4. USING TEMPORAL CONJUNCTIONS Ex: Then, While
  5. USING ADVERBS Ex: for five minutes, 2 hours
  6. USING ADVERBS Ex: the first, the second, the third, the last
  7. QUANTITY PHRASES: 100gr of sugar, a slice of cheese

 

Kinds of procedure text

  1. PROCEDURE TEXT THAT EXPLAINS HOW SOMETHING WORKS OR HOW THE INSTRUCTIONS / OPERATION MANUAL, EXAMPLE: How to use computer, How to record video, how to use  camera.
  2. PROCEDURE TEXT INSTRUCTS HOW TO PERFORM CERTAIN ACTIVITIES, Ex: how to dance, how to play basketball.
  3. PROCEDURE TEXT RELATED TO HUMAN BEHAVIOR, Ex: how to succeed, how to live happily, how to be a good person.

GENERIC STRUCTURE OF PROCEDURE TEXT

  1. Goal: PROVIDE THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PURPOSE OF THE PROCEDURE TEXT
  2. MATERIALS: CONTAINS A LIST OF MATERIALS NEEDED TO CARRY OUT THE PROCEDURE AND THE STEPS
  3. STEPS: LIST OF INSTRUCTIONS TO REACH THE GOAL IN THE CORRECT ORDER OF STEPS
  4. RESULT: THE RESULT OF STEPS THAT HAVE BEEN TAKEN

 

EXAMPLE

How to Make Novel Apple Pudding

Ingredients :

4 green apples, peeled, cored and thickly sliced

¼ cup/45g self-raising flour, sifted

60g butter or margarine, cubed

½ cup/100g caster sugar

1¼ cups/300ml water

Methods:

1. Place apple in a heat-proof dish. Place flour in a bowl. Rub in margarine using fingertips.

2. Stir in sugar and water (mixture should be lumpy). Pour over apples.

3. Bake at 180oC for 1 hour or until syrupy and golden. Serve warm with cream or ice cream.

Serves 6               

Preparation time 15 minutes

Cooking time 60 to 70 minutes
